The current inventory is strongest for snorkeling around the Gili islands, multi-day Rinjani treks, waterfall and village day tours, surfing and private island circuits. Lombok is not one compact resort: always check the stated start or pickup area.
Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air lie off northwest Lombok and are reached by boat, commonly from Bangsal or Teluk Nare. They are separate islands, not beaches you can drive to. Trips starting on a Gili are clearly different from day tours starting on Lombok.
Summit and crater-rim routes are demanding treks, commonly sold over two or three days, not casual sightseeing. Official routes can close seasonally or at short notice after fire or severe weather. Check the national park notice and the operator before travel.
There is no rail network or metro, and public transport is not designed for a fast circuit of the island. The Gilis require a boat. Kuta, Senggigi, Bangsal, Senaru, Sembalun and the southeast coast are spread far apart, so one base is not equally convenient for every tour.
